Abstract Wreath DIY Idea

Abstract Wreath

What you'll need:

  • Approximately 12 yards of 12 gauge gold craft wire
  • Snub nose pliers
  • A sprig of bay leaves, laurel leaves, or eucalyptus
  • Gold metallic spray paint
  • Instructions:

Working in sections on the floor or at a table with plenty of space, unroll the length of the wire and straighten it.

Using the pliers and your hands, bend the wire in alternating directions every 4 to 6 inches to create geometric shapes. Try to connect corners and be conscious of building three dimensional triangles and shapes as you work.

Continue rolling out sections of wire and bending it into shapes until you have a piece about 4 feet long. Gently bend the piece into a circle and hook the ends into the geometric structure to close the wreath.

Using thin even coats, spray the leaf sprig with gold spray paint. Allow paint to dry between coats.

Thread gold leaf sprig through a section of the wreath.

Use finishing nails to hang the wreath on your door or wall.
